9 in 10 women never wear all the clothes they take on holiday | Mail Online

Do you really need all of that?! Nine in 10 women admit they never wear all the clothes - and 8 pairs of shoes - they cram into their suitcase for a holiday Almost two thirds (64 per cent) said packing has caused an argument even before the holiday has started. Packing unnecessary items was the number one reason for a pre-holiday bust-up. It WILL shut! Half of women go over their baggage weight allowance - and 77 per cent of men claim their other half has used their case to take extra clothes away with them The findings are surprising in light of the amount of practice women get at packing - for their partners as well as themselves it seems - as 42 per cent of men in a relationship claim they let their other half do the final pack for them, to ensure nothing is forgotten. Moment of truth: Almost two thirds said packing has caused an argument and packing unnecessary items was the number one reason for a pre-holiday bust-up Women admitted they would get too stressed leaving packing to their partner - with just 5 per cent saying they would let their partner pack for them. Most single men (65 per cent) will leave packing for a holiday until the night before jetting off, with only 27 per cent saying they would pack three-plus days ahead of going away. Women are far more organised with 47 per cent of single women claiming they start to pack at least three days ahead of a holiday, but 71 per cent admitted to cramming extra items into suitcases just before leaving for the airport. The average British man packs 18 items of clothing for one week away, while women average 36 items of clothing for a seven-day break. The item deemed the most unnecessary thing theyve ever packed was tea bags - with one in four people admitting to taking their favourite brand of brew abroad 'just in case'. Other popular items packed 'just in case' but frequently left unworn are socks, hats and pyjamas.
